This week we have two “articles of the week” and they are both from Publishers Weekly.

The first is “When Libraries Close, It Feels Like the End of the World” by PW columnist Sari Feldman. Sari is the former executive director of the Cuyahoga County Public Library in Cleveland, Ohio, and a former president of both the Public Library Association (2009–2010) and the American Library Association (2015–2016). In this post, she claims that “we’re still early in this new coronavirus crisis, but it’s not too early to think about what we want—and what we’ll need—for our libraries in the future…”

The second post is entitled “How the Book Biz Is Coping with the Coronavirus” and it is by Jim Milliot, with reporting by the PW staff. Jim and the PW staff offer an informed overview of how the “publishing industry scrambled last week to keep pace with the rapidly changing developments brought on by the deepening new coronavirus crisis…”
