Saint Louis University’s Pius XII Memorial Library is hiring an Electronic Resources and Social Sciences Librarian. This is a full-time (12-month), non-tenure track faculty position. Responsibilities include managing the Saint Louis University Libraries’ electronic resources and serving as a subject librarian for social science subjects and academic departments.
- Master’s degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association (or the appropriate national body of another country).
- Library or consortium experience in the management of electronic resources.
- Knowledge of information sources related to social sciences research and an understanding of the information needs of social sciences faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students.
- Demonstrated positive public service orientation, evidence of strong organizational abilities and teamwork skills, effective oral/written communication skills, well-developed research skills, and a commitment to professional growth.

Tom is originally from Brooklyn N.Y but has spent his entire professional career in South Carolina, most recently as Head of Reference Services at the College of Charleston. As part of the Against the Grain and Charleston Conference team, he serves as the associate editor of the print ATG as well as the co-editor of the webpage. Tom’s conference duties include coordinating the Penthouse Suite interviews as well as the conference poster sessions.
He received his MLS from the University of Buffalo, SUNY and a second master’s in public administration from the College of Charleston and the Univ. of South Carolina. His wife Carol and he live in downtown Charleston and she is an artist and a tour guide offering historic walking tours of the city.
