ATG Quirkies: The Trick to Remembering Passwords

Want to know the secret to remembering passwords? Well according Teller, of Penn & Teller fame, just ask a magician.

And in this Wall Street Journal post, Teller offers his personal technique. He starts by showing how easy it is to steal another person’s password with a trick used by spirit mediums more than a century ago. He then goes on to tell us how he keeps his passwords safe – he simply memorizing them all! Insisting that it’s not as impossible as it sounds, Teller reveals his favorite memory training method and refers to Jean Hugard’s The Encyclopedia of Card Tricks. and books on mnemonics by the legendary New York magician Harry Lorayne (e.g., “The Memory Book,” “Ageless Memory”).
