ATG Quirkies: Copyright’s Winding Path to the Library of Congress

copyright-40632_1280Given the recent controversy over the relationship between the US Copyright Office and the Library of Congress we thought it might be fascinating to learn How Copyright Came to the Library of Congress.  It seems that when it happened, the Librarian of Congress once again played a leading role.  The librarian at the time “vigilantly lobbied” for the change resulting in the transfer of all copyright registration and deposit activities to the Library of Congress.
