ATG Quirkies: Roald Dahl’s swashboggling words get their own dictionary

dahlRoald Dahl fans rejoice! At long last his swashboggling words are getting get their own dictionary.  As part of the centennial celebration of the famous author’s birth, lexicographer Dr Susan Rennie has complied a new Oxford Roald Dahl Dictionary.

“Some 8,000 real words – and invented ones – are included in the dictionary, which has taken five years to compile.”  Favorites like swashboggling, gobblefunk, frobscottle, wondercrump, and snozzberry all make an appearance.
