ATG Quirkies: Can Books Stop Bullets?

by | Feb 10, 2016 | 0 comments

If you’re not sure about the answer to this puzzler, check out Liam O’Brian’s short history of books as armor on the Melville House website.

As part of his research Liam discovers “innumerable groups, message boards, subreddits, even weirdly comprehensive Yahoo Answers, all devoted to debating whether books can stop bullets.”  He then relays what he’s learned about the physics and history of books as armor, not to mention both fictional and factual accounts of books in protective action.

(Thanks, as always, to John Riley of Gabriel Books for providing ATG Quirkies!)
