ATG Quirkies: The Most Books Published About a Sport: Golf? Baseball?…Not Even Close

by | Oct 19, 2015 | 0 comments

It may be hard to believe butperhaps no other sport has inspired more beguiling and philosophically challenging writing than than chess– at least that’s according to Kevin DiCamillo of Publishing Persepctives.  Laskers-Manual-of-Chess-211x300

Of course, there are many who will question whether chess is a sport at all. But DiCamillo argues that it is and even points to its occasional appearance on ESPN a proof.  And regardless of whether you agree with him about chess as a sport, DiCamillo is right about chess’ literary tradition and he discusses a number of classic titles to prove his point.

(Thanks, as always, to John Riley of Gabriel Books for providing ATG Quirkies!)
