The Nobel Prize in literature will be announced next week and true to their tradition of “taking a bet on anything” the British bookies are giving odds.
Haruki Murakami is the 5 to 1 favorite but you can get good odds on Ngugi wa Thiog’o too. American authors Joyce Carol Oates and Philip Roth are long shots at 12 to 1 and 16 to 1 respectively but still in the running. (Bob Dylan comes in at 50 to 1.)
