Born and Lived: Born in Pennsylvania, lived in Pennsylvania all my life, except for a brief spring in Berkeley, CA, after three-months in New South Wales, Australia. Studied seven summers in Vermont, Middlebury College, Bread Loaf School of English. Traveled in 1967 to 15 countries, 20 cities, around the world in 47 days with the Gettysburg College Choir.
Professional Career and Activities: National Sales Manager with Bullfrog Films since 1987. Teaching English as a Second Language, 1975-1986. Teaching English in the Junior High, 1967-1976.

In My Spare Time: Coordinate Berks Bards, a local grassroots poetry organization that aims to support the lively art of poetry in Berks County, PA. Produce a monthly television program on Berks Community TV, www.bctv.org, with the League of Women Voters of Berks County, PA.

Tom is originally from Brooklyn N.Y but has spent his entire professional career in South Carolina, most recently as Head of Reference Services at the College of Charleston. As part of the Against the Grain and Charleston Conference team, he serves as the associate editor of the print ATG as well as the co-editor of the webpage. Tom’s conference duties include coordinating the Penthouse Suite interviews as well as the conference poster sessions.
He received his MLS from the University of Buffalo, SUNY and a second master’s in public administration from the College of Charleston and the Univ. of South Carolina. His wife Carol and he live in downtown Charleston and she is an artist and a tour guide offering historic walking tours of the city.
