by | Jul 4, 2014 | 0 comments

Zion CanyonThe Library Publishing Coalition is delighted to formally announce its launch today as an independent, membership association. The LPC supports an evolving, distributed range of publishing practices and furthers the interests of library publishers. It promotes collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and networking among libraries and between libraries and other publishers, especially university presses.

After an eighteen month start-up period, during which our 61 institutions collaboratively designed governance, produced several major deliverables, hosted a successful Library Publishing Forum, and published the first edition of the Library Publishing Directory, the community is ready to officially transition from project to ongoing organization.

We invite academic and research libraries in the United States and Canada to become LPC members. Membership information is available at:

Membership in this active and growing organization offers opportunities for engagement with like-minded colleagues, entry into a national conversation around this emerging field, and access to a range of resources produced by and for this community.
