Born and Lived: New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, California, Missouri, Prince Edward Island (Canada). Now a dual citizen US and Canada.

Professional Career and Activities: MLS from UCLA 1993. Worked professionally at University of Missouri-St. Louis, Maryville University of St. Louis, University of Prince Edward Island. Currently the PEI-VP to the Atlantic Provinces Library Association.

In My Spare Time: 3D photography.

Favorite Books: Freakonomics, Paradox of Choice, Omnivore’s Dilemma, Geography of Time

Pet Peeves: University-educated people who whine that math is hard when they’re talking about middle-school level math.

Philosophy: Big philosophy: See the work of Peter Singer. Library philosophy: our job is to connect the users with the information content they need with as little learning curve imposed by us as possible. The more transparent our systems and conventions are to them, the better we’re doing.

Most Memorable Career Achievement: Is yet to come.

Goal I Hope to Achieve Five Years from Now: Be making a significant contribution to Canadian academic library national e-collection collaboration.

How/Where Do I See the Industry in Five Years: I hope the ebook industry is as matured in terms of publisher and vendor standards for access etc. as the ejournal industry was five years ago.
