Leonard brings experience to new role.

Leonard comes to SAGE from Western Carolina University where she was the Associate Dean for Library Services for the last two years. Prior to that, she had served as the Head of Reference, Instruction and Outreach in the Social Sciences and Humanities Library at the University of California, San Diego. Leonard brings nearly 15 years of experience in the library field in North Carolina and California to the newly created position.

“We were looking for someone who had a strong library background as well as good research skills and could help strengthen our ties with our library customers,” said Martha Sedgwick, SAGE Senior Manager, Online Products. “Elisabeth is a perfect fit.”

In her new role, Leonard will lead research efforts in the library market on new and emerging trends in online products. Her efforts will tap into the needs of academic librarians and help shape SAGE online products to meet those needs.

“I’m thrilled to be able to bring the voice of librarians to those shaping the online products at SAGE,” said Leonard. “This new position will help build off of my years in the field and I hope to better connect the high quality products of SAGE to our key customers.”

Leonard is active within various sections of the American Library Association (ALA) and serves as an instructor for RUSA. Leonard received her bachelor’s degree from Salem College, her master’s of science in library science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, her master’s of business administration from Wake Forest University and is currently pursuing her PhD in Information Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
